Repeal of Special Provisions Put in Place for the COVID 19 Pandemic
After the earlier lifting of the state of epidemic in Poland, the Polish government has now declared the end of the state of epidemic emergency as well, coming into force on July 1, 2023. This legal change affects certain regulatory solutions that were put in place to assist during the time of the Covid-19 pandemic, both on government and university level.
Most importantly for our international student community, automatic extensions of re-application deadlines for the renewal of visas, temporary stay cards, and other legality of stay documents, will terminate on July 31, 2023. Foreign citizens who benefitted from the now-lifted legal solutions related to the COVID-19 pandemic should ensure their continued legal residence in Poland or return to their country of origin within the designated time. In the case of persons wishing to remain in the country after July this year, it is advised to submit the relevant applications for a residence permit or residence card before the end of July (unless already renewed).
